The Hill & Valley Exploration Tour – a cooperative venture of rural farms, businesses, historic sites, educational institutes, and artist studios – strives to connect rural venues with consumers, cooperatively advertise for economic development, assist young farmers, and provide hands on education about our vital agricultural community. The Hill & Valley Exploration Tour is an economic revitalization effort through the creation of a direct marketing system for rural products and food.

The Hill & Valley Exploration Tour: A celebration of rural living, occurs on the last two full weekends in September. 2025 marks the 9th year of the Hill & Valley Exploration Tour!
Each year the Hill & Valley Exploration Tour strives to bring you the very best of rural living!! Rural farms, artists, & businesses open their doors to welcome you! The HVETour is a unique opportunity to explore the vibrant and resilient small farm community of Northern Sauk, Juneau, and Richland Counties!
On the Hill & Valley Exploration Tour you will easily find local food and art producers, learn about the changing face of rural America, dine at a true Farm‐to‐Fork country eatery, find hidden gems, and visit a historic Folk Art site.
Don’t forget to bring your cooler to hold all your farm fresh purchases, an extra sweater, and the mud boots because this is country fun — rain or shine!
