Vintage Camper Restoration LLC
Julie, Steve and Clayton Proudy
Vintage Camper Restoration is a small camper restoration business housed in the old Cazenovia fireman’s hall. I have great memories from my childhood of camping and traveling with my grandparents. Because of those memories, about 8 years ago, I decided to restore a vintage camper as a hobby. I was lucky enough to find a 1959 Avion camper and from then on I have been hooked. While I was restoring the Avion, I found another camper to use and it needed some work as well. The more I worked on the campers, the more I realized it was something I wanted to do more of. My background includes working on muscle cars and many of the skills I acquired over 20+ years of tinkering translate well to the campers. I sold a couple of the campers I had worked on and started getting requests to work on campers for other people. My wife Julie and I decided to take on some of the requests and it has grown from there.
In October of 2016, Julie and I purchased the old Fireman’s Hall in Cazenovia WI so we would have the facilities to do more restoration work. In January 2017, my son Clayton joined the business. The shop is located next to the Cazenovia Village Park. The building was originally built as a creamery in 1924 and then used by the local fire department until they built a new facility across the street. We have lots of space now.
We are currently restoring a 1947 Airstream, 1962 Yellowstone, 1973 Airstream and a 1976 Argosy. We offer full frame off restoration as well as basic repair / update service, and are starting to offer polishing services for aluminum campers like Airstream, Avion, Spartan and other similar campers.
During the Hill and Valley Exploration tour over the last two weekends of September 2020. We will have vintage campers to check out in “as found” condition and some current restoration projects. Julie and I own 12 vintage campers and we are always looking for new additions so you never know what will be at the shop. Please stop by! We will have polishing demonstrations, games with prizes and maybe even a chance to try your hand at some vintage camper restoration artwork to make and take home with you!
We are looking forward to meeting you and sharing our passion for vintage campers with you in September. With best regards, Steve Proudy.
