Stoney Ridge Fruit Farm
John and Betsy Bergman
Rooted on the top of a ridge outside of Loganville, Stoney Ridge Fruit Farm is unapologetically simple. It is a stone’s throw from where owner, John Bergman, was born and raised. Inspired by the many heirloom and historic apples, and the thousands of different varieties, John started planting the orchard in 2008. There are now nearly 350 trees, including 130 varieties, in the ground.
John has been practicing horticulture for over 20 years and advocates using alternative pest controls. The trees are grown using pheromone disruption lures, traps, integrated pest management, and timely organic spray applications.
John is assisted year round in his orchard endeavors by his wife, Betsy, and his son. We invite you to join us as we open up our orchard on N. Stoney Ridge Road for the weekends of the Hill and Valley Tour. We will have deliciously healthy Field Fresh apples available for tasting and to purchase, as well as amazing apple cider. If you are considering starting an orchard of any size, several varieties of 2–4 foot trees will be on hand for purchase. Custom grafting is also available.
“Like” us in the actual field and taste the difference.
